Petersfield Ups and Downs (PUAD)

July 12, 2015

The Petersfield Ups and Downs (PUAD) – is a charity cycle ride up, over and through the South Downs National Park around Petersfield. You can choose from a 30 mile route, a 20 mile route, a  20 mile off-road route or a family friendly 5 mile route.

Last year over 600 riders took part in 8th year of PUAD, with the event raising around £13,000 for local charities, organisations and good causes!

PUAD is aimed at cyclists of all abilities as a fun ride. This is not a race, it’s about promoting health, raising money for good causes and having fun. The courses will take you through some beautiful South Downs countryside, which you can take in at your own pace.

Every rider who completes the course will receive a medal sponsored by MacDonald Oates LLP Solicitors.

There are four routes to choose from; 20 and 30 mile road course for adults and accompanied children over 10 years, taking you out through Oxenbourne, East and West Meon, Butser, Chalton and Buriton.

There’s a challenging 20 mile off road course for those with mountain bikes. Finally, there is a 5 mile ride for all the family on the cycle paths and roads around Petersfield.

PUAD’s off-road course is a 20 mile circuit with approximately 7 miles on the road and rest taking in the challenging bridleways and byways of the beautiful South Downs National Park. This course is a challenge and if you’ve never ridden off road before, the organisers recommend that you don’t attempt it.
