Meghan Cann is Fundraising

Meghan CannMeghan lost her beloved Nan, Eileen Cann, in 2007. With help from The Rosemary Foundation, Eileen was able to spend her last few weeks at home with the family who loved and cared about her.

In her honour Meghan has promised to do three things: get a tattoo in remembrance (she has a small fear of needles), do a sky dive (she is not a fan of heights) and lastly to give blood. “I am doing this in remembrance of my lovely Nan. She meant the world to me and I’d like to think she’d be looking down on me and be proud of the person I have become.”

Back in 2007 when she lost her Nan, Meghan was just a schoolgirl. She wrote this beautiful poem:

Here I am
Sat alone
Just wondering how you’re settling into your new home
Up high
High in the sky
Thinking of you
To me you will always be true
But I understand you were suffering a lot of pain
I will never forget you Nan,
And how that one day your turned off your fan
Which ’twas the last time I saw you
And that’s how I’d like to remember you..
As my loving and caring Nan.
I’d like to think you’ll always look over me
And maybe one day you’ll see
Me finish school and my GCSEs
You will be that bright shiny star
Who will look down wherever you are
Just writing this to say how much I love you Nan
And you will always be in my heart
No matter how far we are apart.
I’m gonna miss you so much Nan
But you will always be Mrs.Eileen Cann
You always said the right thing
And at the right time
I’ll always remember your favourite drink
A lemonade and lime
Mum said you’ve gone to a better place
But I will not ever forget your lovely face
You meant so much.. You still do
I never thought I would lose you
Look at me now, a right state
I wanted to tell you this but now it’s too late
I love you Nan and I always will
Xxx

“Thanks to the amazing care and support from the Rosemary Foundation my Nan was able to spend her last few weeks at home with those she loved and cared about her around her almost all the time. I truly believe that without the help and support from the Rosemary’s we would not have been able to care for Nan and be around her at her own home, we would have had to put her into a hospice. This charity is solely funded on donations so every donation is widely appreciated no matter how little it may be. As mentioned above I’m not a fan of heights so this is something I took a while to consider doing, and well.. Why not.. For a great cause! So whilst I am throwing myself out of a plane to help support another family sponsors would be hugely appreciated and mean a lot to not only myself, my family and other people but to the Rosemary Foundation too.” Meghan Cann
