East Meon Open Gardens

East Meon Open Gardens

Since 1986 the East Meon Garden Club has held open gardens once or twice each year.

Gardens throughout the village are open for one afternoon to inspire and delight visitors. Cream teas are served in the village hall and all monies raised on these afternoons go to the East Meon Good Causes Fund which supports a wide variety of community projects and activities in East Meon.

East Meon Garden Club Open Gardens

Sunday 22nd June: Wonderful weather was the icing on the cake for this year’s East Meon Open Gardens day. Nine village gardens and the VH allotments were open to visitors from 2-5.30pm. Cream teas, cakes and refreshements were served in the Hall. The local history group set up a display in The Court Hall and the bell tower was open to visitors, where groups of peole could watch the ringers in action, with the delightful sound echoing across the valley. Spinners worked away in the Village Hall and a plant stall, Country Artisan and restored garden tools from Richard did a roaring trade in the Village Hall car park.

More than £1,700 was raised and shared between the Rosemary Foundation and the East Meon school hall extension project. We would like to extend our thanks to everyone who took part this year, we are very grateful for the donation.
