A Christmas gift for our nurses at The Rosemary Foundation

Our volunteers and supporters at The Rosemary Foundation have just enjoyed one of our most successful Christmas periods, raising over £8,000 through selling cards and holding events.

We sold 980 packs of our Christmas Cards through a variety of outlets and Christmas events with only 20 packs remaining, which will be sold next Christmas (only 11 months to go). Cards for Good Causes was particularly successful, selling out twice!

However, our volunteers don’t sit on their laurels. We’re already looking at designs for our 2018 cards. If this year is anything to go by, and whilst we will again increase our order, early orders may be required to avoid disappointment!

Support from local events and clubs

A Christmas fair at East Meon raised more than £4000 and local pubs and clubs also supported us. We received £1750 from the Solent Metal Detecting Club, and The Queen’s Head in Sheet and the Jolly Drover near Liss deserve special mention, as does the Emsworth Concert Band’s Magic of Christmas concert at Bedales.

Jeremy Mitchell, general manager at The Rosemary Foundation, said: “This has been our best ever Christmas all round. We were overwhelmed and humbled by the level of support we received this year. We look forward to this momentum continuing into the New Year.”

The Rosemary Foundation provides a ‘Hospice at Home’ service in the Petersfield area for patients in the latter stage of life-limiting conditions. However, with no government or NHS funding, and no cost to the patient or their family, we rely solely on the generosity and support of local volunteers and fund raisers to enable our nurses to carry out the work they do.
